Exhibition text:
This piece represents my ability to create a sculpture through the use of several different industrial materials to create an organic doll form. As well as representing my artistic abilities, the piece also represents my love for art from a young age. I created this piece using several different industrial materials and hot glue and string to hold it all together.

Artistic Inspiration
Jon Beinart
Jon Beinart is an Australian artist and the founder of Beinart International Surreal Art Collective, an online community of strange and imaginative figurative artists. Beinart is best known for his "Toddlerpedes," recycled plastic doll parts made into surrealist monstrous sculptures resembling insects and other mythological creatures. He also creates large intricate drawings with strange recurring themes such as birth, death, deformity, hybridised beasts and human odditie. In 2016 Jon opened beinArt Gallery in Melbourne, Australia. beinArt Gallery is a curated space for highly skillful figurative artists with a shared fascination for strange and imaginative themes.
Currently, Jon enjoys devoting his time to creating his own art, curating exhibitions in his gallery, facilitating the beinArt online community and watching his most magnificent creation, his son "Pudding", discover the world.

Meaning of individual aspects
The hand made out of metal is meant to represent insecurities. The idea behind this is whenever I try to explain artist block to someone who is not themselves an artists. The easiest way I know how to describe it is the feeling of my hands feeling metallic and hard to move. (like metal)
The paint brush as a hand is meant to represent ease. The idea behind this specific part is my ability to create art. I have always been creative and I truly believe that it is in my blood. The pant brush for a hand is meant to represent the ease of using paint brushes as if they were my own hand.
The words SUPPORT YOUNG ARTISTS on the torso is meant to represent that parents and educators should support kids rather than take away funds from the arts and killing their imaginative side.
Meaning of the piece as a whole
Overall I wanted this piece to represent the idea that art is already in us as a baby. The words SUPPORT YOUNG ARTISTS on the torso is meant to represent that parents and educators should support kids rather than take away funds from the arts and killing their imaginative side.
This piece ties into the project (Organic vs Industrial) because the body of a baby is the organic aspect of the piece and the individual artistic instruments (wire, paint brush, ..) of the body are the industrial part of the piece.
